A Place To Visit

North-western Mallorca's secluded Port de Sóller is a charming, little coastal community that has gained popularity in part because of its antique tram, big bay with protected harbour, and attractive surroundings. As a former fishing port, it is a fantastic site to eat fish and seafood, and the well-equipped marina is the ideal starting point for boat and sailing expeditions to nearby bays like Sa Calobra, which gained notoriety through the Hollywood movie Cloud Atlas.

The location of Port de Sóller is breathtaking in and of itself: encircled by the towering peaks of the Tramuntana mountain range, the expansive protected harbour, with its anchored boats rocking gently back and forth, the enormous expanse of the sea in front, and sprawling orange fields in the distance.

Originally intended to transport oranges, the tram that runs between the town and Harbor de Sóller today provides a relaxing way to get to the charming horseshoe-shaped port while its rails pass through gardens bursting with citrus fruits.

This is a beachfront resort with a working harbour as well as a lot of amenities, hotels, restaurants, pubs, and stores catered to tourists' demands. There are numerous options for holiday rentals, including everything from flats to five-star villas. One of the few protected harbours on the north west coast, the well-equipped marina is the perfect location for yachts and sailing boats, which can also be anchored in the bay.
